Supporting St Margaret’s ‘Tree‑iffic’ Christmas Tree Collection
We were delighted to once again support St Margaret’s Hospice in their annual Christmas Tree Collection – a record‑breaking community effort that grows every year.
Across January 9-11, fleets of vans, lorries and trucks travelled throughout Somerset to collect real Christmas trees in exchange for donations. This year, more than 2,713 trees were registered, helping raise more than £47,052 – the highest total in the collection’s six‑year history.
Our role in the collection
We were honoured to be part of the incredible volunteer network that powered this operation. From early starts on the road, we helped lift and load trees, navigate routes, support drop‑off points and ensure every tree was handled safely and efficiently.
St Margaret’s described the effort as showing ‘Somerset at its very best,’ and we were honoured to be part of the community spirit that got the job done.
Working in partnership
This year, St Margaret’s also partnered with Children’s Hospice South West to cover the TA1, TA2 and TA3 areas. By working together, they reached more households and made the collection even more efficient – something we were pleased to support through our hands-on involvement.
Our staff and families
We want to share a heartfelt thank you to our amazing staff and ours and their extended families who volunteered their time, energy and enthusiasm. Their willingness to get involved – from driving and lifting to organising and cheering us on – made our contribution possible. We couldn’t have done it without the support of those who encouraged us and joined us out on the routes. Your dedication helped turn a community effort into something truly meaningful.
Sustainability at the heart
Every tree we helped collect was responsibly recycled by tree surgeons and recycling partners, ensuring thousands of trees were chipped rather than sent to landfill – a sustainable outcome we’re delighted to support, especially with our business ethos of recycling as much waste as we can.
Looking forward to next year
We’re so proud to have played our part during this record‑breaking collection and look forward to supporting this fantastic initiative once again next year.
