Transfer Station Supervisor
Due to the growth of our business an opportunity has arisen to join the busy team as our Transfer Station Supervisor. The successful candidate will assist the Site Manager in leading the operative team on a day-to-day basis ensuring site activities are run in accordance with the highest levels of operational efficiency and Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
The role is ideally suited to someone with waste and recycling handling experience, used to a fast pace, high volume waste processing operation and leads by example.
Key responsibilities
Engage positively with Roberts employees and work closely with other departments to ensure operations run smoothly.
Guide and help to improve the safety culture within the company.
Allocate, communicate and monitor daily tasks and objectives for the multiskilled team of recycling operatives, plant operators and site maintenance staff.
Monitoring waste stock levels, liaising with internal and external contacts to balance inputs and outputs, maintaining stocks at a level in full compliance of the site permit.
Monitoring and ensuring quality control – contamination and compliance testing.
Ensuring mobile and static plant is maintained in accordance with company procedures, all periodic inspections are performed and any defects recorded and rectified.
Controlling on site logistics to ensure the traffic movement of all delivery and collection vehicles is performed safely and efficiently.
Drive and operate mobile plant and equipment as required in accordance with valid licence, safety procedures and legal requirements.
Assist in recruitment, training and monitoring of a team of waste operatives and plant operators.
Maximising the productivity of the recycling plant, ensuring the company recycling KPI’s are met.
Liaising with contractors and site visitors ensuring, above all else, their safety and compliance whilst on site.

Essential skills and experience
Industrial Supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
Waste Management: 1 year (preferred)
Experience in people management, leading and motivating a multiskilled team within a fast-moving operational environment is essential.
Experience in operating heavy plant. 360 slew excavators, loading shovel is desirable.
Experience with basic fault finding and minor repairs/maintenance is desirable.
An ability to find innovative solutions to challenges and possession of an enthusiastic, can-do attitude are essential qualities.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and team building experience.

Excavator Operator
An exciting opportunity to join our family run business working with the team in our busy recycling waste transfer station. We recently installed a new waste sorting plant with state of the art technology due to company expansion and require an operator for our 360 excavators with some work on a loading shovel.
Main responsibilities:
Loading our state of the art waste recycling plant.
Loading, operating and helping to maintain our stone crusher and screener.
Receive waste into our yard where necessary.
You will need:
2 years experience as an 360 Excavator Operator.
Experience of using other plant equipment loading shovel, Tele handlers.
A valid CPCS or NPORS Card would be preferred.
Experience of waste and recycling industry preferred.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Work well in a team.
Be safety conscious.

HGV Class 2 Driver
Roberts Waste Ltd is a family run business based in Bridgwater, providing a waste collection and recycling service
to a large and well-established customer base in and around the Somerset area.
We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic Class 2 driver for a Roll On Off lorry to join our expanding team.
You will need:
To be flexible to work on a variety of vehicles when required.
Holding CE Licence will be an advantage.
Skip experience preferred but training can be given.
A minimum of 2 years LGV driving experience for insurance purposes.
What we can offer you:
Minimum 40 hour per week Monday to Friday, Overtime available including occasional Saturdays if required.
£13.36 per hour, Salary, based on average 45 hours, is £31,262.
Transport Coordinator
Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
Job Description:
A fantastic opportunity for an individual to join our busy haulage team in a family run business established over 95 years. Our company will develop your skills and knowledge as well as offer the opportunity for you to progress within a thriving waste management business.
You will be working closely alongside the Operations Director and Transport Manager for the day to day running of a fleet of 16 lorries.
Key Responsibilities: –
· Manage enquiries and quotations for the haulage department.
· Assisting with driver management, taking into account driver holidays and sickness cover.
· Liaising directly with suppliers, subcontractors and customers.
· Plan and coordinate transport routes in the most efficient way utilising our tracking system to monitor delivery and collections.
Proactively communicate with customers and management team in providing status updates and maintaining contact with drivers throughout the day.
· Deliver excellent customer service by addressing queries and issues promptly via telephone and email.
About you:
· Ability to think on your feet and react to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
· Confident, excellent communicator with good time management and organisational skills.
· Administrative IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel essential.
· Transport/Logistics experience would be an advantage.

Hours – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00am – 5pm. Smart casual attire.
